Jason shows up to pluck Maxie out of Dr. Devlin's grip, Sam pops in to do her own investigating and then Claudia and Johnny come by with a bribe to get him out of town.

At Michael's bedside, Carly stands and tells Robin and Patrick that they are going to find another doctor. Robin gently tries to steer the conversation toward long-term care, but Carly says that will come from her WHEN her son wakes up. Jax leaves the room to make arrangements for a doctor from Berlin to fly in.

Robin and Patrick find Jax in the hall and warn him not to let a team of new doctors take advantage of his bank account. Jax says that he needs to exhaust all resources if only for Carly's sake. As if to offer an explanation, he tells them that the first thing he loved about Carly was the way she fought for the people she cared about. Then he asks what kind of care Michael will need if it turns out that they are right. Robin says that caring for someone in Michael's condition is a full-time job for two people and strongly suggests that he go to Shady Brook. Jax says that Carly's not ready for this yet, but promises to broach it with her when she is.

After Jax goes back to Carly, Patrick asks Robin if she's okay. She tells him that she was the first person to hold Michael other than Jason when he came home from the hospital. She says that she fed and changed him and thinking about him in bed for the rest of his life is awful. Then she admits that she's terrified of becoming a mother. Later she confides her fears to Liz. In addition to worrying about safety and being a good role model she's worried about being a single mother. Liz assures her that she'll do just fine.

Jason and Sam are down the hall talking about Dr. Devlin. Sam says that she didn't see anything during her time as his patient that could be considered criminal, but he did make her uncomfortable. Jason asks her to explain and she tells him how strong Dr. Devlin came on to her. Before they can say more, he takes a call from Spinelli who is inside Dr. Devlin's closet and in dire need of help.

Over at the bad doctor's fleabag apartment, Maxie has pulled away from his kiss and tells him that he has the wrong idea. She tells him that as Kate Howard's new assistant she's following up on a news story about "doctor hotties." Ian doesn't believe a word of it. He puts her in a chair and pours her a drink. She tells him that she's old enough, but doesn't want to drink with him. She reminds him that her father is the Police Commissioner and offers not to mention his tendency to call escort services. Thankfully, there's a knock at the door and it's Jason. Devlin releases Maxie to him but warns them to lay off.

Jason takes Maxie back to his penthouse and Spinelli shows up soon after (after finding a clever way to escape the closet, no doubt). Maxie wants to know what they are looking for in Devlin. Jason doesn't want to involve her but she threatens to tell her dad what they are up to. Then, she offers to butt out of their business but for a price. She thinks for a minute and then demands that Spinelli uncover the complete layout of Couture's fall magazine by tomorrow. After she leaves, the guys get back to business of following the money in Devlin's bank accounts.

Out at Shady Brook Anthony says that he is in deep despair because Johnny's instincts are so off. He tells his son that he is far too impressionable and has been listening to the wrong people. As they argue over whether or not Anthony is recovering, Ric (accompanied by Logan) comes in and tells Johnny that he is in violation of a court order. Anthony tells Ric that he's pleased with his work, but he is to never come between him and his children. Johnny asks why Logan is there and Ric explains that Logan is a medic as well as a body guard and will take care of all the daily needs of his father. Anthony likes the idea and dismisses Johnny.

Out at the Zacchara mansion, Sonny has just asked Claudia out to dinner. He explains if they go out in public they'll send the signal that their two families are in good faith. Claudia can see that he wants to use her for a human shield to draw out the shooter. Unless she took out the hit, Sonny reminds her. She tells Sonny that he wants her and it scares him, that's what this is all about. She also tells him that she's done with him. Giving up on his dinner plan he tells Claudia, "God help you if you had anything to do with my son's shooting," and then leaves. Soon Johnny comes home and tells her that their father is dangerous and she should go back to Italy. Claudia says that together they can finally beat the old man.

Diane has called Alexis over to Sonny's office. When she arrives, Diane promptly tells her that she is to tell Sonny that her freak-out after their one-nighter wasn't common for all attorneys. Alexis is furious that Sonny talked about her with Diane. She says that for the record, she freaked out before she had a one-nighter. Then she asks Diane why she would talk to Sonny about such a thing and learns that he has forbidden Max and Diane from being together. As Diane's new best friend, Alexis wants her to use her as an example of what kind of men not to sleep with. What she doesn't know is that Ric has come in and heard her.

Alexis quickly tells him that it's girl talk that's all. He shakes it off and says that he's looking for Sonny to tell him that he is now Anthony Zacchara's lawyer. Alexis reminds him that his new client ran a sword through him at the B&W ball. Sonny comes in and asks if he called meeting? Ric tells him about his new arrangement with Anthony and Sonny quickly gathers that this has something to do with going after Trevor.

Sam shows up at Dr. Devlin's door to thank him for doing such a good job on her hip surgery. She asks if there is any way to show her gratitude and he offers her a drink. She takes it and says that she's noticed that he acts interested in her. He doesn't deny it and she asks if he needs someone to talk to. He tells her that his world is complicated. Then he takes a phone call from Claudia who says that she's coming over to talk. He hangs up and tells Sam that he has a previous commitment to attend to.

When Johnny and Claudia show up at Devlin's a little while later, they offer to transfer a million dollars into his account if he leaves town. Devlin says he's not going anywhere and that if Jason Morgan comes to kill him, he'll name names before he goes down.
