Dancing With the Stars Winner 2023, Who Won DWTS Season 32? Spoilers
It’s the moment fans have been waiting for. The Dancing With the Stars winner for 2023 is here, and while the competition was close, there was one frontrunner who set themselves apart from the rest of the competition.
Dancing with the Stars Season 32 premiered in September 2024 with 14 contestants including Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino; supermodel Tyson Beckford; celebrity real estate agent Mauricio Umansky; and singer and Britney Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears.
Each week, contestants were sent home one by one until only five finalists and professional dancers remained: Marvel star Xochitl Gomez and pro Val Chmerkovskiy; Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix and pro Pasha Pashkov; Grammy-winning singer Jason Mraz and pro Daniella Karagach; actress Alyson Hannigan and pro Sasha Farber; and former Bachelorette Charity Lawson and pro Artem Chigvintsev.
In a rare move, the Dancing With the Stars Season 32 finale will feature five couples instead of the usual four. The Dancing With the Stars Season 32 semifinals featured a fake elimination before hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough announced that no contestant would be eliminated and all five couples who be moving onto the finale. “That pretend elimination was the most terrifying thing. It was sick and twisted!” Madix told Page Six after the episode. “I was like, ‘I love you guys, but also, I hate you guys for that!’”
Gomez, who was in the fake bottom two, told Page Six that she was “fully convinced” she was going home. “In the pretend bottom two, it was between us and Xochitl and Val, and she has the power of teenagers on the internet,” she said. “And I’m an elder millennial! I was like, ‘There’s no way!’ So that was where my head was at when my life was flashing before my eyes.”
Hannigan reacted to her and Farber being named as the first couple safe from elimination. “When [Alfonso] called my name, I thought he made a mistake. I was in total disbelief and I was waiting for him to correct himself,” Hannigan said. “And then he didn’t correct himself and I was like, ‘What universe are we in?’”
Meanwhile, Lawson told Page Six that she was “still processing” the semifinal twist. “We are all deserving to be there and I think this is going to make it so much more special that we all get to share this moment together,” she said. “I’m stoked and so excited! I can barely talk right now.”
