Can a person really know what’s up until the chips are down? Doubtful, right? So it will be revealing and then some the week of January 22 when The Young and the Restless’ Victoria finds out on which of her many loves she can count.

As viewers are well aware, Victor and Nikki’s daughter has had her world knocked off its axis by the “It’s a girl!” surprise that returned her own “late” daughter to her life. Not only was baby Eve introduced as a grownup Claire in the most horrifying way, but now that her brainwashing by Aunt Jordan is common knowledge, Victoria is trying to figure out how to hang a branch from the Newman family tree for her newfound offspring.

No mean feat, that, considering that Claire was an accomplice to Jordan’s plot to murder the Newmans and pushed Nikki so far off the wagon that it rolled all the way down the hill without her. After clashing with Daddy Dearest on Monday, Jan. 22, Victoria has an especially dark moment on Friday, Jan. 26. On whom does she lean?

The much-married heiress certainly has her pick of men to whom she can turn. Ex-husband Cole understands better than most what a shock it was to get lil’ Eve back years after they thought that she had perished. Victoria and Billy have had more ups and downs than a roller coaster and still come out the other end as friends and coparents. Long-ago love Michael has a seen-it-all worldview that could come in handy. And for a minute there, we had a feeling that something was about to happen between Victoria and this man about town.

But when push comes to shove, the guy who has Victoria’s back in this instance turns out to be Nate. Though their relationship has lately gotten filed under “It’s complicated,” he might finally be able to score some points with his girlfriend and get them back on solid ground.
