Favorite daytime wedding? - General Hospital

As the Chase and BLQ wedding approaches, it made me think what are some of your favorite soap opera weddings?

GH: Sonny and Brenda 2011- wish they would have let them be happy at least for a while

Sabrina and Patrick’s almost wedding - Robin returned. Patrick’s raw emotion and Emma running to her mommy still makes me teary

Sam and Jason - Love that they eloped and got married at the Chinese restaurant.

What are some of your favorites? You can always include other soaps if you want. :heartpulse::heartpulse::heartpulse:

Sam & Jason. I love that they also showed back up at the church with Chinese food & beer for everyone. I thought Maxie was going to lose her head…all her wedding planning down the drain.

Luke & Laura for the sheer spectacle & the fact that I was so young & had to watch it at a friend’s house.

Luke and Laura! I called out sick from work that day for what I hear a lot of people did too even college students skipped school! It was awesome.

On Days, my favorite was Steve and Kayla’s first wedding in 1988. Back then, beautiful nuptials occurred without the drama of the church blowing up, fires starting or some sort of bedlam being let loose.

Luke and Laura. Back in the day pretty much everyone was cheering them on as they got married. It was one of those daytime soap opera moments in time that will never be forgotten. Elizabeth Taylor showing up to put the Cassadine curse on them; Scotty and Luke fighting; everyone in PC attended. It was something that was a truly great moment for soaps. I have to believe it’s still the most watched soap opera episode in the history of daytime soaps. Truly magnificent wedding.

Seems to be pretty unanimous that L&L are the front runners. I only know about it from GH history and pop culture. Definitely a moment in tv history.

I was a fan of his too. While I couldn’t understand how they ever fell in love, I still liked his character. He definitely found his own way of being a family man. Unconventional, yes but the Spencers make it work.

I really enjoyed his scenes with Lulu, Lucky, and Ethan. I also liked his scenes with Bobbie, Carly, Sonny, and Alexis. We’ll just pretend that horrible Fluke story never happened. I can totally understand why he has so many Emmys. One of my favorite scenes was when the did the intervention after he hit Jake. Tony Geary is a remarkable actor.

Luke and Laura’s wedding for sure it was popular even people who didn’t watch GH were tuning in.

Anna and Duke’s wedding was very romantic.

Felicia and Frisco had a good wedding

I didn’t see Anna and Duke the first time around, but I saw them when he returned with the Robin and Faison storyline. Duke is one of my favorite matches for Anna.

Felicia and Frisco were before my time too, but I know they were once married in real life. And I’m familiar with Jack Wagner since I watched Melrose Place. I think I saw some more recent episodes of GH when he returned. Another deadbeat dad. Ugh. Mac and Felicia are the ultimate couple in my opinion, and Mac is Maxie’s dad so I’m good.:heartpulse:

Back in those says the soaps were primarily backed by advertisers like Proctor and Gamble. The budgets were bigger and the writers had more time to plan big events like weddings. When P&G pulled out things rapidly stared to change

Luke and Laura - it was one of those moments that people can remember where they were to watch it!

I know what you mean. I’ve seen many elaborate weddings and pictures of weddings on GH and Days. Much bigger budget. Love the fashion!

My absolute favorite wedding was on AMC, Trevor and Janet from another planet’s surprise nuptials. Robin Mattson’s Janet had no idea she was getting married to Trevor. She had planned a fake wedding to avoid Trevor’s marriage proposals. It was a hoot!

Tiffany was so 1980s over the top! I adored her. Great couple & wedding.
