There is a wardrobe department, clothing/jewelry/accessory budget. There are fashion coordinators who choose clothing that is appropriate for characters, taking in their professions/careers, etc. Ava’s clothing is high/haute couture. Her character symbolizes old money…despite how the money was acquired. Consequently, the Wardrobe Department’s budget would be higher than for someone like Willow. Around 15 years ago, there was a shop in the Mall that I frequented where I found several of Carly’s dresses/pants/tops/accessories. The name of the store was Arden B. Willow was a tacher…now a nursing student, and her clothing is modest and reflect what someone within her income would spend on clothing.

Initially, when the Pandemic began, several actresses were using their own clothing. LL, Olivia, Anna, FH, and Carly LW were some that were mentioned. Alexis, NLG was another one. Olivia, LL, has listed some of her dresses that she purchased online. But, no, actors do not hoose their own clothing. There would be no need for a Wardrobe Department.
