Simon Cowells Family Grows as AGT Judge Adds New Member: Photos
Simon Cowell’s family has grown by one more! The America’s Got Talent judge welcomed a new puppy into his family, introducing the latest four-legged addition on Instagram.
“Our family has had a new arrival … her name is Pebbles,” he captioned a set of photos on Jan. 11, 2024. In one shot, Cowell was seated in a chair and held the pup as they both went in for a kiss. In another, the AGT creator nestled his face deep into Pebbles’ fur.
The following day, Cowell shared photos that featured the rest of his family, which includes fiancée Lauren Silverman, stepson Adam, son Eric and three other dogs. “A couple more of us and Pebbles,” he wrote in the caption. His third post showed his son Eric looking all grown up as he cuddled with Pebbles. The former American Idol judge captioned the post simply, “LOVE.”
Fans flooded the comments section of the posts and congratulated him on the adoption. “😍 Pebbles got the golden buzzer 🥳,” one fan wrote. “Congratulations- Pebbles hit the jackpot!” a second wrote. A third fan speculated the dog is a Shiloh Shepherd, though Cowell has not yet disclosed Pebbles’ breed.
Cowell is notoriously private when it comes to his personal life. He almost never shares photos of his fiancée, whom he has been with since 2013, or his son Eric, whom he and Silverman welcomed in 2014, on social media and he rarely speaks about his family publicly.
He has been very open about his love of animals, though. In 2018, he donated $32,600 to Humane Society International to help the organization shut down a a South Korean dog meat farm and rescue the over 200 dogs who had been living there. Cowell was reunited with one of the dogs he helped rescue during a 2020 interview with ITV’s Good Morning Britain. As he held the Maltese mix named Robin in his lap, Cowell spoke about why he is so passionate about animal activism. “This is difficult for me … but it is important because, without people like you, he’d basically be in someone’s stomach,” he said. “Now you think about that, right? And dogs will give up their lives for you. They really would … and they’ll look after your kids, they put their lives in front of your kids.” He continued, “I’ve seen it with my dogs, and my dogs are tiny. So what you do is so important, bless you.”
According to People, Cowell is also the proud dog dad of Yorkshire terriers Squiddly and Diddly, his late mother’s dog Freddy, and a fourth dog, Daisy, whom he adopted in Barbados in 2018.
