Yes during 2022 posters said it was way too long so we were seeing a lot of individual threads like nikki outfit or sharon what was she wearing so we asked and came up with wardrobe thread new one each year…but thought start before all the holidays and all those fashions

i asked admin to lock the other one so if anyone else wants to ask them the more the better

I love having the Wardrobe( hair and makeup ) all on one thread. It’s is so much easier to follow along and interact :grinning: I don’t see why people had issue just going to last posting in the thread…? Hopefully we will see some great looks over the holidays

I can’t reply to a comment in the closed thread so I’m going to carry it over here.

It was mentioned how Esther was able to afford a Forester Creation original when she was getting $20,000 per month so long as she stayed at the mansion and continued to clean it etc. She has since moved in with Chloe and Kevin so it’s assumed that she gave up her $20,000.

I always thought that she gave up the money when she moved out of the mansion and in with her daughter.

However someone pointed out to me a few years back, that the wording of Katherine’s will didn’t necessarily mean that she had to live at the mansion.

Katherine put that in her will because that house was Esther’s home for many decades and she didn’t want to see her displaced and she knew that Jill would displace her. She wanted to make sure that Esther had a home for the rest of her life.

Esther Valentine… receives a monthly stipend of $20,000 on the condition that she stay on at the mansion and continue to take care of it.

The words “stay on at the Mansion” could be debated, but it could also mean staying in the employment.

$20,000 per month works out to $240,000 per year. Katherine Chancellor has been dead for 10 years and I think Esther moved out about 3 years ago. If she collected for 7 years that’s over 1.6 million dollars. A Forester Creation would not cost anywhere near 1.6 million. So Esther would be in a position to purchase a dress.

having not watched B&B I cannot comment on a gown Esther got

do we know she paid retail? did Laure buy it for her? did Eric give it the her? and now that Abby and Devon are living in the Chancellor mansion why would Esther take care of it???

YAY…people are finding the new wardrobe thread! :dress: :dress:

US Monday show!

Well baby Aria was the prettiest little bundle ever, so she might be the fashion winner for today! :revolving_hearts:

I thought Nikki looked sensational in the mauve pantsuit with the black blouse, very flattering and very business appropriate. I usually like a good broach on the lapel, but didn’t much care for the one Nikki was sporting.

Claire Grace also looked very business professional in the blueish-grey pantsuit.

Mariah and Tessa were fine in their casual outfits.

The loser today for me was Sharon in the blazer with sparkles on it. Also paired over what looked like a very casual striped tee shirt just didn’t work.

I’m not a regular B&B watcher but I did check out two episodes surrounding the fashion show and Esther and Lauren’s visit. To try to answer your questions… Esther bought one of the gowns. No one mentioned anything about anyone else paying for it and I can’t imagine any reason why Lauren would buy Esther a super expensive dress. I also can’t see any reason why Eric would give her one. He did let her buy the dress, even though another, richer and more influential client wanted it, but I think that is as far as his generosity would go a less there is some other connection between Eric and/or Forester and Esther.
On the other hand I don’t know why Lauren asked Esther to go to LA with her in the first place so maybe there is some reason why Esther is connected with Forester or Fenway’s?

I don’t watch that show either. In fact this fashion show was the first episode of this show I have ever seen.

I uploaded a picture of the dress that she purchased to my profile. I’ll leave it up for a couple hours and then I’m going back to my pretty standout yellow floral one.

She had a “say Yes to the Dress” moment where she was crying when she saw the dress.

The dress she purchased was created by ridge, Eric’s son.

I don’t know how much she paid for it. Prices were never mentioned. Although I did hear the word “Bid” once or twice. On the November 1st episode, Eric said he felt like his collection sold out and that there were multiple bids on every dress.

I didn’t say that Esther was still working at the mansion. But a case can be made that the wording in Katherine’s will would allow for her to live off premises and to just report to work periodically to clean.

So far as Devon and Abby living there, can you see either of them cleaning? It’s a mansion with not just rooms; but wings.

Since Devon hired Esther to work at Chancellor Winters, and he knows how important Esther was to Katherine, I can see him employing Esther to clean the Chancellor house.

Plus I remember when Abby and Chance were living there, Nina encountered Esther at the coffee house and invited her to return to work at the Mansion.

On a side note I think Esther got that dress for a song. Since it was to be bid on, I think she didn’t bid high enough and Marie Osmond’s character wanted the dress too; mainly because she was trying to stick it to Esther, but Esther got her bid to Ridge first. I think as a favour to Lauren he went with Esther’s bid over any others.

Did not care for the hairstyles of Sharon & Claire. The usual two big hunks hanging down on each side of the face. Would look more sophisticated to have all the hair swept back off the face.

Aside from price aside from wording of Katherine will and yes I do think once she moved out she would lose the $$ monthly I yes Devon and Abby would be hiring their own cleaning people

my biggest question seeing the photo why in the world would Esther every buy that …where would she ever wear it to?

Maybe to work at the coffee house? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::joy:

When the dress was on the runway, the wording that was used to describe the dress was “Diamond and Crystal”

That was my first question, after all, it is quite a risqué style. How old is Esther supposed to be now? Where would she ever wear that?

Esther is mid-70s. She’s older than Jill by about 8 or 9 years.

I don’t believe that these dresses were being ‘bid’ on in the sense of it being like an auction. I think they just meant get in your request for the dress you want in case more than one person wants it. Besides, I think they said, after the show, that they had ‘almost’ sold out . If it was a case of bidding then they should have probably all sold just some at lower prices.

I think the writer here was stealing an idea from the movie Mrs. Harris goes to Paris where a cleaning lady has a dream of owning a Paris couture dress and a lucky polls win and some hard saving on her part give her enough money to do it but of course when she gets to Dior some of the staff and other customers look down on her. It was showing on Prime I think a couple of months ago.

I usually don’t go for daytime sparkle either but I did really like that jacket on her. Maybe because the sparkle was tone on tone and tastefully done IMO?
